Jennifer Camilleri is a painter of naive art based in London, UK. Originally looking to follow a career path in Art Therapy, she began working on various public art projects in schools and hospitals. She chose to return to her love of painting and began to exhibit her work all over the UK and abroad with works now held in a number of collections.
Her acrylic works of art are a colourful journey into the imagination digging into her inner child. A natural labyrinth of creatures and peculiar beings composing a garden of existence. In the words of Jean Cocteau:
"Art is a marriage of the conscious and the unconscious"
In the beginning....
Jennifer's painting journey began within the public art sector, focusing on art workshops and mural painting. Following a time working in this field, as well as holding down an office job, she decided to devote her time to painting and exhibiting.
"After years of procrastinating working in offices, I felt a deep void of this missing 'thing' ....the thing I could express myself with, the thing that gave me joy, the thing that filled my soul. I had to return to my true essence as an artist"
Having exhibited extensively, Jennifer now concentrates on studio based work.
"My aspiration is to fill people's homes with joyful art that is easily accessible and affordable direct from the artist"
